THESE QUESTIONS GET ASKED A LOT.

  • Yes, the Bragg Creek area has several well-maintained trail systems. The Bragg Creek Trails Association (BCTA) maintains more than 160km of trails (summer and winter). These connect to the more than 130km of current trails maintained by the Moose Mountain Bike Trails Society—they are always planning and building more. The Calgary Bike Trails Society and Alberta Parks also help out.

  • Guests are responsible for organizing their own transportation of equipment to their desired destination.

You can bike via a paved trail, but the closest trailhead is 12km away from our store. We do not recommend this option because it cuts into your rental time significantly.

Outbound Elements offers delivery of the equipment to the West Bragg Creek PRA on weekends (only at the beginning of your booked time slot).

  • Even when you do everything right components can fail or a crash can happen. It is the responsibility of any guest heading into the mountains to be prepared. That means having something to eat, extra clothing, first aid supplies, repair tools, and so on. Make sure someone knows where you are going, and when you plan to be back.

We can NOT come and get you, I’m sorry.

  • No, most trails do not have reliable coverage. Please download trail maps before heading out on the trails. Make sure someone knows where you are going, and when you plan to be back.

  • Yes, wildlife encounters can always happen, even in unexpected places. You should always be prepared, and know what to do. Besides bears, there are moose, cougars, bobcats, lix, badgers, geese, elk, wolves, coyotes, and more.

The best deterrent is to ensure you travel with others—not alone. Make noise when you are on the trail. DO NOT FEED the wildlife, and DO NOT leave your garbage around.

  • Yes, to ensure you have the equipment you want please reserve ahead of time. We are happy to assist you over the phone, in person, or by email.

  • You need an ID, and a credit card (we require a credit card number as a security for the rental of our equipment). In terms of payment, we accept cash, debit, Visa-debit, e-transfer.

  • Our staff is happy to help you choose a trail that suits your ability. If you are looking for more details there are several websites and apps such as, AllTails, Trailforks, Strava Heat Map, Garmin.

On weekends there are trail hosts at the WBC PRA trail center to give you the best up-to-date info. General info can also be retained at a Kananaskis Parks Info Center.

  • It depends on several things such as the rider's body weight, how much assistance you want, and how much power you put in.

Our bikes are 550wh bikes which means that if you want 100w of power out of the assist, the battery will last 5.5h. A beginner rider will put out an average of 80-100w on their ride. An advanced rider will be closer to 180-200w of power in their ride.

  • Equipment is reserved for you during a specific timeslot:

    • 9am - 1pm Half Day

    • 2pm - 6pm Half day

    • 9am - 6pm Full Day

    • 6pm – 9pm Evenings

This means you can pick up the equipment at any time within your time slot, but it must be returned to the shop no later than the end of your time slot.

If you are late in returning your bike, you will be charged a late fee (starting at 30min after your scheduled drop of time). If your late return results in another guest not being able to pick up his equipment, you will be charged a half day fee.

  • We try to design our adventures to fit the unique needs of our group. This will be discussed at time of booking. Some of our adventures require a base skill and fitness level that is described in the listing.

  • Rain is an unfortunate but occasional part of being active in the outdoors. Most of our trips will go ahead if it’s raining (or rain is forecasted).

Some bike activities may be postponed or canceled in the case of rain. This is because rain presents beginner riders with an added hazard of slippery surfaces that can cause injury. Rain also causes the ground to become very soft and weak. Taking a group of riders out would damage the trail systems that volunteers work hard to maintain.

  • Our cold temperature cut of is -18 degrees Celsius.

  • The weather forecast in the Rocky Mountains is anything but reliable. Rentals are subject to our booking terms and conditions—even if there is a freak storm. In the case of our guided tours and skills sessions, we will, to the best of our ability, postpone to the next available date for guests. Refunds are subject to regular booking terms and conditions.

  • We ask that participants of our tours or skill sessions always bring water bottles that can hold at minimum 1L of water. Please have your water bottle filled before you arrive. We may not always have immediate availability the clean water.

  • We serve high-quality European Alpine cuisine food from of café.

  • All of our guides hold a valid 20h Wilderness First Responder course (at minimum). Our lead guides hold a minimum of 40h wilderness responder certification.

  • Group sizes are limited to 10 people. If there are more than 10 guests, we provide a second guide. This limits the amount of traffic we exert on a trail, ensures a better the experience for our guests, and contributes to overall safety and group management.

  • Yes, if you are interested in a private tour, lesson or event please reach out via our contact page, and we will arrange a unique experience for you.

  • No, once we leave the trailhead the only running water we will have access to comes directly from our beautifully clean and tranquil rivers, streams, and waterfalls (very cold but healthy).

Warm showers are NOT available. Soap can be brought along. The rest is up to you. (No one will be forced to jump in cold water but everyone is encouraged to try.)

Bathrooms are available at some of our campsites. If none are available guides will designate areas. Guides will take groups through the outdoor bathroom etiquette to ensure that we leave no trace.

FULLY EQUIPPED WITH HIGH QUALITY GEAR TO ENSURE YOUR COMFORT AND SAFETY. BUT, WAIT. THERE’S MORE. WE ALSO DELIVER RIGHT TO THE TRAILHEAD.
